This is on every body's lips right now, I am talking about the search for ten South African hottest amateur DJs.They will be mixing and styling their performances in showing how talented they are. As they battle it out to be crowned
"Top Jock" at the enthrilling. Grand Final on 30 March 2012.Do not say this is too soon people,you still have time to prepare and get yourself a ticket to attend the show.  
Hosted by McDonald's South Africa and MTV Base at The 'Venue, Melrose Arch.

Top Jock Grand Final

The Top Jock Grand Final will feature a electrifying contest, between finalists from 10 regional heats, hand-picked by judge and beat master DJ Euphonik on University campuses all around the country.
The ultimate winner will be chosen by established DJ stars,stated below;
DJ Poppy,
DJ Euphonik,
 DJs Switch
 Redwood and MVD, in front of hundreds of music fans, VIPs and celebrities.

The DJs will also perform live sets at the Grand Finale, alongside 2011 Top Jock Winner: electro-house DJ Master Morgan.
The winner will be announced by DJ Euphonik and rewarded with a 12-month DJ course and R100,000 worth of prizes. The winner will also have the chance to showcase his/her skills to a wider audience by appearing on MTV and MTV Base.This is not based on gender even ladies are given a chance to show their talent.
The Top Jock DJ competition was created by McDonald's South Africa in 2009 to uplift and cultivate Mzansi's musical talent.Let go out there and support our young and talented DJs,more over we hope UJ will take the lead in this one.

  1. The DJs from uj apb realy rocked my day if you heard their re-mix were so cool, I think one of the DJs from uj APB will win the 12 months DJ course and that R100,000.

  3. What i saw that day it was a real talent, That young Man who is presenting UJ APB he deserves to take or win the batle of Macdonalds his v talent he knows how to play or mix his music

  4. Great thing done by McDonald's. Young people need motivation and direction and this competition is doing exactly that. I too, loved the UJ Bunting road edition.

  5. Salome that was a real talent indeed.Ofcourse as UJ APB we deserve the award because we are supporting McD all the way. We walk from APB to APK just to get McD.
    The caged bird you have a good point there McD as they call it in my hood,is doing a great job indeed,we are motivated and the audition here was enthrilling.

Does mzansi's musical talent need uplifting? why i ask is McD being a sponsor of the talent search and benefiting from brand exposure as well as good ''caring'' image to people in the musical society. does the talent search serve a temporary goal or long term goal? and wouldnt you say that McD investing in a musical school would be a better option to ''uplift'' raw talent that is out there?

Yes it does,The talent search serve as a long term goal, because, the winner will be rewarded with a 12-month DJ course and other prizes to the value of R100 000, as well as sharing his or her moment of fame on MTV and MTV Base. This will boost the economy of south africa and i will create employement for others.
